Wendy Etter’s work explores how identity forms, fractures, and reconnects across language, sound, story, and attention. Raised in a Southern California truck-stop town alongside a large Mormon community and an abundance of meth suppliers, Wendy grew up between law enforcement, evangelical certainty, and clinical care: her father an LAPD officer and later a pastor, her mother a rehabilitation nurse. Her work is shaped by recovery, motherhood, and a sustained curiosity about how people recognize one another across difference.
